“New era of ecological collapse”

‘“New era” of ecological collapse, where rapid extinctions occur in regions that have little direct contact with people… They include in Germany, where flying insects across 63 insect reserves dropped 75% in less than 30 years; the US, where beetle numbers dropped 83% in 45 years; and Puerto Rico, where insect biomass dropped up to 60-fold since the 1970s.’

#TalkCollapse because this is collapse.

  1. Thanks, fine Just Collapse people.
That’s a powerful, well-reported article, but it always comes down at the end to unwarranted faith – the extremely dedicated and knowledgeable entomologist expressing ludicrous “optimism” that ultrasocial cooperative predators Homo sapiens will completely unspeciate to create carbon-free wonder worlds) – versus those gifted with evidence-based fortitude, who cannot wish away horrific disintegration, and have taken down their moth sheets.
