Attempts at geoengineering are inevitable now as we race over the cliff. We’ve passed every meaningful marker for climate change, and now we’re grasping at straws–like Mars colonization or further altering the atmosphere with sulfur. Too bad. Earth has been a perfectly good planet, and we had every opportunity to accommodate ourselves to the Web of Life. Instead, we attempted to transcend our lot–and wrecked everything in the process. The only thing left now is to demand justice from the worst perpetrators before the lights go out.
